CONCESSIONS AND BENEFITS EXTENDED TO EX-SERVICEMEN (ESM) AND THEIR FAMILIES

WORLD WAR II VETERANS AND THEIR WIDOWS

Government of Telangana provides Monthly financial assistance @ Rs.6,000 to the Non-Pensioner II World War Veterans and their Widows. Auth: G.O.Ms.No.88, dated.22-12-2015 of Home (Ser.IV) Department, Government of Telangana.

WAR WIDOWS / WAR DISABLED SOLDIERS

(i) CASH GRANT 

    Government of Telangana State provides monetary grants to NOKs/ dependents of Defence personnel Killed in action / Disabled in action as under:

 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR EX-SERVICEMEN

     1)  2% reservation in Group III and IV posts in State Government jobs. Auth: G.O.Ms.No.310, dated.30-05-2005 of Home (Genl.C) Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

     2) Relaxation of physical standards in Police Constable recruitment.

     3) Defence Services trades were equated with Civil trades. Auth: G.O.Ms.No.16 of Labour, Employment & Training and Factories (Emp)Department, Dated 12-04-1999 of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh (United)

    Self-Employment

     1) Pavala Vaddi Scheme is applicable for Ex-Servicemen and Widows of  ESM for self-employment ventures where in the ESM has to pay 3% interest on loan and the rest is borne by the State Government.              (Max Loan amount Rs.5,00,000/-)  Auth: G.O.Ms.No.339 of Home (Genl.C) Department, dated.25-07-2009 of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh (United)

     2)  Provision of interest Subsidy to ESM for self-employment ventures from Special Fund  (Max Loan amount Rs.50,000/-)

The Government provides reservations of 1to 3 percent in Admissions into various professional courses.

6. OTHER BENEFITS AND CONCESSIONS

  • Seats reserved for children of ESM and serving personnel who are domicile of Telangana in Technical/ professional/vocational institutions under CAP category.
  • Exemption from property tax for one house/shop of ESM/their widows/serving personnel when it is self occupied by the widow/ESM and by the family in case of serving personnel.

  • Cash awards to winners of Gallantry and meritorious awardees such as Ashok Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Param Vir Chakra, Shourya Chakra etc.,)

  • War Jagir Allowance by State @ Rs.150/-p.a. for one Child and Rs.50/-p.a. for every additional child wef.19-03-1994.
  • ESM suffering from T.B. are treated at par with NGOs of the State for admission to Govt., T.B. Medical Institutes. Also free medical treatment in Govt., hospital for ESM.
  • Free legal assistance to ESM and their dependents where the Govt is not a party. Request for legal assistance can be made to the concerned District or Taluk Legal Aid Committee.
  • Reserved Ready built houses by Housing Board for serving defence personnel, ESM and Widows as follows:  HIG – 5% MIG - 5% LIG - 2% EWS- 4%
  • There are Sainik Rest Houses in Telangana (Hyderabad, Karimnagar & Warangal) to provide dormitory & Guest room facilities to ESM & Serving Defence personnel / Widows at nominal charges. The Sainik Rest Houses in Warangal and Karimnagar are presently non-functional due to administrative constraints.
  • ESM are given preference in allotment of Route/national Permits by State Transport Authorities.
  • Reservation of 5% of Industrial plots/Sheds for ESM by TSIIC.
  • ESM / Widows of ESM are exempted from examination fee for Competitive Examinations conducted by State Public Service Commission.
  • Amendment in Buildings(Lease, Rent and Eviction) Control Act,1960 for legal protection to Serving Defence Personnel to get their rented houses vacated by tenants.
  • Ex-Servicemen Housing  Colony: Allotment of land for the purpose of house site of 175 Sq. yards on payment basis to ESM & Widows of ESM. They have who form Housing Society and apply through ZSWO.
